Every year for nine years until 2020, the Chelsea Depot Artisans Market showed handcrafted work at the historic depot during Chelsea's "Wine, Women, Shopping" event. This year's was Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10-5. Hopefully next year they will show at the depot during Chocolate in February and Chelsea Summer Festival in July. The charming venue offers a wonderful backdrop to the offerings of some of our area's most talented artisans. These photos are from November 2019.

A lot of excitement permeated the building as a movie was filmed at the historic Chelsea Depot in December 2017. A Grand River Productions movie titled "Guest Artist" was put on by Chelsea's Jeff Daniels in collaboration with Timothy Busfield and Melissa Gilbert. A Christmas tree became part of the depot decor until the end of February, when re-shoots took place.
The film was shopped at film festivals, premiered at the Michigan Theater in December 2019, and hopefully we will all be able to see it soon!
Thanks to the film company and to board members Todd and David for lights and decorations, we have a beautiful tree for our December events!
A 50th birthday party at the depot featured fun, colorful decorations including black and white checked tablecloths, vinyl records, balloons, and a root beer float stand!

The depot is a wonderful place to
celebrate LIFE -
from a memorial luncheon
honoring a man
whose many loves included flamingoes...
to a dance party
with lovely ladies
celebrating friendship and fun.
The Historic Chelsea Train Depot
was the site of a marriage proposal
one summer. A young man from Iowa
rented the depot to propose marriage to his
Chelsea sweetheart. And as the sign says,
she said YES!
The depot will also be the site
of their wedding shower.
Don't you love happy endings?
